The Pose is always a Practice

Pose

Yoga is a practice. It is a lifelong practice. This is not meant to be daunting. It is meant to be comforting. This practice will always be there for you. Alas, entropy is a fundamental feature of our existence, hence, as the years roll on, there may be instances that occur in which we do not recover. And general forward momentum into our wisdom years also leads to a degradation of the body. My point being, that a practice may need to be modified at various stages of life for accessibility.

.

Poses do not begin as finished. There are many stages entering and exiting a pose. Many variations and modifications for one to be able to receive the benefit of the pose.

.

When one sees a photo on the magazine cover, often times of pristine pose of one draped in the silk of stillness, you do not see behind the scenes of the untold hours of preparation for those few breaths of a moment. Nor do you see from which position one moved forward from.

.

Another important factor to include, is the jnana that a posture is never truly finished. It is always practiced with full attention to ascertain further depths into grace.

.

Below, I have decided to share some photos that are not a finished “product”. Enjoy!
