Men’s Natural Yoga: Brotherhood, Sadhana, and the Power of Showing Up

I’m thrilled to announce that LIVE Men’s Natural Yoga classes are beginning in Denver on August 5th at 7:00 p.m. These will be weekly, clothing‑optional classes for men, created to build strength, presence, and brotherhood.

And remember — our Colorado Springs class continues every Sunday evening, offering another space for men to gather, breathe, and grow together.

I love bringing men together. I love watching strangers become brothers. I love seeing men learn from one another, support one another, and rediscover the kind of connection that modern life often strips away.

But I also want to say something clearly:

Your Personal Practice Matters Even More

Yoga is not really about coming to class. Yoga is about coming to yourself.

A personal practice — your Sadhana — is where the true effects of yoga take root. It’s where discipline is born. It’s where responsibility is cultivated. It’s where perseverance is tested.

Sadhana is the quiet, often uncomfortable work of sitting with your body, your thoughts, your fears, your anxieties. It’s the daily choice to meet yourself honestly, without distraction, without comparison, without performance.

Group practice is powerful — affirming, enjoyable, and deeply connective. But can you truly be one with your brothers if you are not first one with yourself?

There’s a line from scripture that speaks directly to this:

“How can you take the speck of sawdust out of your brother’s eye, when all the while there is a great plank in your own?”

The answer: “First take the plank out of your own eye, so you may see clearly to help your brother.”

This is yoga. This is Sadhana. This is the foundation of brotherhood.

Group Practice + Personal Practice = Real Transformation

I’m not advocating that you skip group classes — far from it. We learn so much from practicing with other men. We grow through shared breath, shared effort, shared vulnerability.

But when you have a personal practice, your group time becomes more powerful, more meaningful, and more fulfilling. You show up clearer. You show up steadier. You show up ready to contribute to the collective strength of the room.

Brotherhood is built on men who are doing their own inner work.

A Directory of Men’s Natural Yoga Classes

On this site, I maintain a directory of LIVE classes around the world. Please use it.

If you teach a class and don’t see it listed, reach out — I’ll add it. If you want help starting a class in your area, I’m here for that too. Building a brotherhood takes time and energy, but without a solid foundation in personal practice, it becomes unstable and eventually falls apart.

We Lift Each Other

Men’s Natural Yoga is more than movement. It’s more than nudity. It’s more than weekly classes.

It’s a commitment to support each other, lift each other, and honor each other in every aspect of this life we’re blessed to share.

Your Sadhana is the root. Your brotherhood is the branches. Together, they make the tree strong.

Returning to the Roots

A moment in class last week showed me how strongly men cling to the physical side of yoga — and how much they resist the slower, grounding work. This post looks at the history behind that shift and how Men’s Natural Yoga is helping men reconnect to the practice’s true roots.
